Surreal Classic2

I love Ken Fischer's twisted versions of the classic circuits. I especially like modded versions of the Vox AC30 Top Boost. I've also become a fan of those dumble type circuits that hold a note forever. The one problem I had to overcome is the fact that I don't like the way low wattage amps break too quickly. I love the sound of KT66's put right on the edge of clipping. So, I took a twisted version of a Voc AC30 schematic, twisted and tweaked it even further and stuck it in front of a KT66 driven traditional power section.

To make things even more interesting, I added a second preamp with the tone network right after the first gain stage and a local feedback loop on the second. This channel has taken on the character of the dumble type amps, Ceriatone Overtone, Two Rock etc. With the volume on half, this channel sustains a note forever. This channel also comes with a preamp boost on the mid control for a fat, clean boost.

Both channels are totally independent and feature their own tone networks. Both channels have HOT switches on the volume controls. The HOT channel features a defeatable Master Volume on the back with its own defeatable clipper circuit. Both channels are footswitch activated as well as a front panel switch and the usual options are available. PPIMV, gain and voicing mods etc. An insert loop is standard but a buffered loop is available upon request. (Additional charge)
